Handbrake wont shift. It appears even when you release the hand brake, the wheels are not free to rotate. Check for possible seizure; i.e. The hand brake cable. Wheel cylinder or caliper pistons. GT Kevin. You don't need too run the engine Just turn the ignition on hold the foot brake pedal down pull the handbrake switch the handbrake will release and bleep at you ! Turn ignition off now
Ok the guy came round and he thinks it could be one of these issues. My battery is only ruuning at 11.7 so possibly a new battery needed, wiring of Electric Hand Brake or Electric Hand Brake ECU. All the signs were obviously showing a fault directed towards the handbrake.. He said he tested the brake pedal switch and got readings as ok.
Ive tried that - when I say the fault isn't there - what I mean is the auto brake works - i.e disengages the car - however as soon as soon as the fault shows the auto handbrake feature stops working. Its like the car is on catch up with the fault. I have a cup of tea in hand which is always a good thing ..I will try your suggestion again though.
