Twin front Brembo brakes (320 mm) and a single rear disc provide impressive stopping power with good feel. KTM has decided to fit special spoke wheels to the 1190 which run tubeless tyres. This is to give the wheel more flex in off-road conditions and more control to the rider. A pressure monitoring system is also standard fitment.
The more I check the 1190 (as I'm looking into getting one), the more obvious it becomes how completely different the 1190 and the 950 were designed. The 950 is a former rally bike turned adventure-tourer. Developed with rally pilots, in rally competitions.
