Obviously, if you’re buying a used Audi check the maintenance record and check those recalls at the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Administration).
These vehicles could achieve tremendous mileage when fuel efficiency wasn’t common. The 2.0 TDI is the successor to the older 1.9 TDI diesel engines. The engine may not necessarily be more reliable than its predecessor, but the BlueMotion tick can achieve higher fuel mileage with lower fuel consumption.
Diesel engines are considerably more durable than gasoline engines, the engine blocks should run for darn near ever in our TDI's. However, all of the crap they've had to add onto that engine, mostly for emissions purposes, is temperamental, unreliable crap, which makes the care overall significantly less reliable.
